IFRS – Adapting to the changes
Listed companies have now published their first year consolidated group accounts using IFRS rather than UK GAAP, but the evidence suggests the challenges are far from over. Many key spokespeople have commented that the global convergence of IFRS and UK GAAP will increase in importance for the majority of UK businesses. The state of pay
Basic salaries for qualified accountants in permanent roles rose by 3.7% in 2007. Fifty percent received an increase between 4% and 6%, while the average pay award in the UK, excluding bonuses was 3.6%. Inflation stood at 2.1% in November 2007.
